I flew to Salem, North Carolina from Cape Town, South Africa to photograph my son's wedding. I would not normally recommend this, however, I did have a second photographer, my Brother-in-Law, Alex, a very talented photographer to help me out. I've photographed many weddings and photographing the wedding of someone you know can be tricky, let alone the wedding of your son. That being said, I would not have it any other way. It allowed me to be everywhere and enjoy the wedding from every aspect. The hard part is remaining focused and not too caught up in your personal emotion. I recall back to the days when I would photograph the soccer and baseball games of my boys. I was able to capture great action of the other kids, but with my own, I would take my eye away from the camera to take in the raw action and miss the shot. I must say that this did happen once during the wedding. When Hillary was walking down the aisle, I saw Daniel shed a tear and wipe his eye. I missed that shot because I was overcome with the emotion of the moment. I would not have missed that at any other wedding. I compiled a few teaser images of the wedding here for everyone's enjoyment. Feel free to share them with whomever you'd like. The rest of the images will be forthcoming after Hillary and Daniel review them. Enjoy! And if you like the post and images please like my FaceBook page. I'd like to get to 500 likes. Don't know what happens at that point, but I've heard it is a significant milestone to getting more views. 😃
